A Turning Point: Finding Hope Through a Book

The turning point in Jaishree’s perspective of cancer treatment came from the last few pages of a book she was reading. It shared the story of the author, who had reversed her uterine cancer by following the principles and processes outlined in the book.
“This was the first time I was introduced to Louise L. Hay; through her book The Power Is Within You. She became my immediate mentor and guide.” Jai remembers fondly.

“I began reading more of her works and learned about the plant-based diet she had followed during her healing journey. Inspired, I decided to give it a try. My very next meal was a huge bowl of grated raw carrots. To my surprise, it not only tasted good but also brought noticeable changes the next morning—my mouth ulcers had reduced, and for the first time in a long while, I wasn’t suffering from constipation or nausea.

Encouraged by this, I started incorporating more raw salads and fruits into my daily diet. Gradually, I began feeling more energetic and no longer like a sick patient. It was a small yet powerful step toward reclaiming my health.I believe it was Louise Hay who first introduced me to the concept of a whole plant-based diet through her story. Her journey inspired me to explore further, and I began researching the benefits of a plant-based lifestyle. A quick Google search opened up a wealth of information, and that’s when I came across the SHARAN website and Dr Nandita.

I was also introduced to the Health Awareness Centre, where I attended their nine-week course on plant-based diets a couple of times. These experiences deepened my understanding and commitment to this lifestyle.Eventually, I decided to formalize my knowledge and became certified as a Whole Plant-Based Nutritionist through Cornell University. It was a six-month online course that gave me a comprehensive understanding of the science and principles behind plant-based nutrition, solidifying my journey toward health and wellness and the changes Jaishree started noticing were mindblowing.

In a week

I felt more energetic, my mouth began to feel better, and the constant nausea from chemotherapy reduced significantly.

In three weeks

My blood parameters showed more balance, and the chemotherapy didn’t seem to affect me as severely. I hardly felt tired during my treatment.

In a month

My skin started to improve—it wasn’t turning black from chemotherapy anymore.

In three months

My hair began growing back well, I no longer needed any medications, and I started feeling much fresher with clearer skin.

It wasn’t easy at first. I still craved cooked food, especially in the evenings, and loved my evening snacks. Raw days were the toughest; by evening, I’d find myself yearning for something cooked.
